A Sidmouth Story – The History of Annies
Annies has been part of Sidmouth’s story since 1985, when founder Annie opened her first shop in what was then Sidmouth Shopping Centre, before moving to it's current position on Old Fore Street in 1987. In the early days, the shop offered a variety of goods, but Annie’s vision was always to create something special – a welcoming space dedicated to beautiful leather bags and accessories. With time, care, and the support of trusted friends in the trade, that vision became reality. Over the years, Annies grew into the leather boutique Sidmouth knows and loves today – full of colour, quality, and character. Annie retired in 2005, passing the reins to new hands. Today, Annies is proudly run by Harri and continues to evolve with the times – still independent, still full of charm, and bringing a modern twist to a much-loved Sidmouth favourite.
Nearly forty years on, Annies is still here thanks to our lovely customers – old and new – who keep the story going, one beautiful bag at a time.
